Saira Malik, a seasoned operations management and capacity development professional, brings over 10 years of management experience to the Aid for Orphans Relief Foundation board. Her career in community and international health settings, as well as her extensive work in the non-profit sector make her a valuable addition to the AORF Board. Currently, Saira is the Principal at Cool River Associates in Chico, CA where she provides strategic consulting for social entrepreneurs and emerging non-profit leaders in developing efficient financial oversight for startup ventures.

Her background in public health and management has allowed Saira to serve a wide variety of non-profit organizations, medical centers and academic institutions in their missions of improving public health. At the Institute for Community Health in Cambridge, MA, she acted as Manager of Education and Grants before being promoted to Manager of Operations and Finance for the Institute. Saira also served as Project Manager for studies at both the Harvard School of Public Health in Cambridge, MA and the Channing Laboratory at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.  Her career has also allowed her to work with non-profits such as the Frontiers Small Grants Program in New Orleans, LA and the Thyroid Foundation of America in Boston, MA.

Saira received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biological Sciences from Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, MA before successfully pursing a Master’s of Public Health degree from the Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, LA. In 2009 she received her MBA, with a focus in Healthcare Leadership, from the Yale University School of Management.
