Polluted water – what is a threat?

4

We talk about polluted water when its physical, chemical and bacteriological properties experience an adverse change. This change may be caused by abnormal amounts of inorganic, organic or radioactive substances. Their presence makes the water impossible to drink and use for farming purposes. Water can be polluted by chemical substances, bacteria and other microorganisms. Water quality can be altered, also, by natural disasters, such as storms and earthquakes.

Water pollution is seen as one of the world’s biggest problems. It is said that over 14,000 people die every day because of complications caused by limited access to safe drinking water. When contaminated with pathogens and high levels of toxins, water is the cause of many acute and chronic diseases that often lead to death.

Dreadful situation of African children

Many African children are not familiar with safe drinking water. Their only source of hydration is water from polluted rivers and other water reservoirs. When these children are weakened by lack of proper nutrition they are easily affected by various diseases caused by bacteria living in this unclean water.

Importance of water is something that does not have to be explained. Every human organism needs clean water to survive. Unfortunately, many children in Africa suffer from lack of water or have no access to clean safe drinking water.

Help is needed!

African families are not able to gain access to clean water on their own. And without it many adults and children are doomed to die. What can be done? Those people need our help in order to have a chance for a normal healthy life. That is why organizations like Aid for Orphans Relief Foundation are trying to do everything that they can to help poor children and save them from unnecessary death. Your support is most welcome!

What can you do to supply children with safe drinking water? The easiest way to help those children to survive is to make a donation. Our nonprofit organization offers you various ways to donate. You can make, for example, a one-time tax-deductible donation, a donation in-kind, a donation of your unused frequent flyer miles, a corporate donation or a planned giving donation.

Provide children with safe water

One dollar per day is enough to provide two families with a Basic Family Water Kit to make clean drinking water. Your good heart and a small gesture are enough to save lives. Join our efforts and help us save many children by providing them with clean water.
