Aid for Orphans Relief Foundation hosts Ambassador Wenwa, Consul General of the KenyaOn September 24th, 2012, the Aid for Orphans Relief Foundation hosts Ambassador Wenwa, Consul General of the Kenya consulate, Greater Los Angeles area. Along with the Ambassador and April Sutton, a TV personality in L.A. and activist, we will collaborate about new opportunities to distribute critical medical supplies to orphans at risk in Kenya.

The meeting with Ambassador Wenwa will help clarify the specific needs of orphans in Kenya and connect us with a specific facility and liaison with whom we can work to provide the most critical items that will have the greatest impact.

Because of the worst droughts in decades and political conflicts, Kenya is experiencing an influx of refugees, including children. We know that thousands of children in Africa have died and thousands more are malnourished. Malnourished children fall sick more often and if they recover can suffer from irreversible mental and physical disabilities. These children in crisis are at high risk of disease like diarrhea and pneumonia. By sending basic medicines, medical supplies, sanitizers, nutritional supplements and vitamins, we know we can show positive results.

The key to providing life saving supplies to Africa is connecting with specific partners on the ground who know what the greatest current needs are and know where there is personnel who can administer medication. Our goal is to partner with Ambassador Wenwa and April Sutton in order to lessen child mortality in Kenya and improve the children’s quality of life.
